March 2, 2013: Our Art Stud class were given the chance to go to one of the famous cities here in the Philippines, Pampanga. Let me take you to that interesting place by showing you some of the pictures taken during our field trip.
San Guillermo Church: our first stop. This church has an interesting history since half of it was buried when Mt. Pinatubo exploded.
This is a picture of my classmates and I. We were so awed listening to the history of the San Guillermo Church
Next stop is the Museum of Kapampangan Arts. There we saw great art works but what really amazed me is the works of Vicente Mananlasa, a very famous painter in Pampanga.
Pampanga is not only famous in history and in art it is also famous with the food that they offer here. The picture above shows Lilian Borromeo, and her famous San Nicholas cookies.
San Nicholas cookies are pastries which are said to be blessed for it uses the left overs of the hosts given by the priest during the Holy Eucharist.
Another famous delicacy in Pampanga besides the San Nicholas cookies are their Sansrivals. Above shows a picture of my classmates and I being taught how to makes these sweet pastries and we were also given a chance to taste it. Yum!
This is a picture taken by our Art Stud prof, Ma'am Eloi Hernandez. I feel really grateful in being a part of this class and in experiencing to go to a place filled with interesting histories, amazing forms of arts, and unique food.
I hope you had a great time reading
and looking at my photo essay :)
